Bartesaghi scored twice to put Milan in front, netting his first senior goal in the 34th minute and converting again within two minutes of the restart. Rabiot initiated the decisive move by feeding Christopher Nkunku, who laid the ball off to the onrushing wing-back making a run into the box. The wing-back targeted the near post rather than attempting a cross, and the low, precise finish slipped in to give Milan the lead.
