"Once the new Gemini features are active on your iPhone or iPad, Chrome users will see a new icon in the left corner of the address bar (where the Google Lens icon used to be), shaped like a notebook page with the Gemini star symbol in one corner. By tapping that new icon, you can ask Gemini questions about what's on screen or have it summarize webpages."
"The capabilities of this integration are still somewhat limited compared to what you'd get on the webpage or app for Gemini (or another chatbot), but it could still be useful if you want a quick answer without leaving the webpage you're on. To test out the feature, you have to be signed in on the iOS version of Chrome. The Gemini integration doesn't work in Incognito mode and currently only supports English."
Chrome on iPhone and iPad is receiving built-in Gemini AI features that bring quick on-screen assistance. A new icon appears at the left of the address bar, replacing the Google Lens icon, shaped like a notebook page with the Gemini star. Tapping the icon lets users ask Gemini questions about visible content or request webpage summaries. The integration offers fewer capabilities than the standalone Gemini webpage or app but provides convenient in-page answers. Users must be signed into Chrome on iOS; the feature does not work in Incognito and currently supports English only. Availability is rolling out gradually and may require updating the app.
