The Atlanta Braves faced a tough game against the San Francisco Giants, falling behind 3-0 in the first inning. Despite a sluggish start where only Matt Olson reached base for the Braves, they rallied back, motivated by a series of walks and errors from the Giants. A sacrifice fly and a timely hit narrowed the gap, but ultimately a wild pitch in extra innings sealed the Braves' fate, allowing the Giants to claim a 5-4 victory.
I can't imagine that anybody in Braves Country was enthused about the way this game started.
Fortunately, the Braves eventually got themselves into the fight.
This was at least a statement of intent that they weren't going to completely roll over in this one.
A wild pitch is what ended up handing a 5-4 win to the Giants.
