FromSoftware has announced that Elden Ring Nightreign will soon offer a two-player mode, addressing player frustration over its absence. Director Junya Ishizaki acknowledged they overlooked this feature during development, which has led to difficulties in three-player co-op scenarios. Initially cited as a balancing choice, the upcoming duos mode promises relief for players. Moreover, while a patch recently aimed to enhance solo play, more adjustments might come to ensure balanced gameplay for duos when implemented.
This comes after director Junya Ishizaki admitted the developer 'overlooked' a duos mode during development.
It'll be a relief to some Nightfarers, as three-player co-op has led to pairs awkwardly trying to find a third to join.
Ishizaki said in December 2024 that the lack of duos was 'largely a game balancing decision.'
Elden Ring Nightreign has just received a patch to make solo play more bearable for Nightfarers - but only a wee bit.
