Ryan Leonard, a 20-year-old 2023 first-round pick, scored the Capitals' lone goal in a 3-1 preseason loss to the Boston Bruins, his second goal in three preseason games. The goal resulted from a gritty inside effort where he battled for position and punched home a rebound created by defenseman Jakob Chychrun.
