Red Sox announce roster for wild-card series vs. Yankees
"The Red Sox postseason series against the Yankees could be determined by rookie pitching, as Boston will have multiple first-year hurlers on the team's roster for the wild-card series. The roster for the first round of the playoffs was announced by the Red Sox on Tuesday morning. Rookie pitchers Payton Tolle and Connelly Early were both included. As was announced on Monday by manager Alex Cora, veteran starter Lucas Giolito was left off the roster due to elbow soreness."
