"PALO ALTO Police are investigating a fatal vehicle crash that claimed one victim on a street in Palo Alto near Stanford University. The fatal crash involved a single pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Alma Street near the University Avenue overcrossing, Palo Alto police said. Palo Alto police received a report at 11:57 p.m. Saturday regarding a major injury collision at that location, which is a few blocks from Stanford University."
"Officers and personnel from the Palo Alto Fire Department responded immediately and located a man in his 40s unconscious in a pickup truck, Palo Alto police stated in a prepared release. Emergency crews extricated the man from the pickup truck and transported him to a local hospital. At the hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased."
