San Ramon man charged with attempted murder after two road rage shootings involving same victim
"Richardson is a suspect in two shootings, on Aug. 13 and Aug. 15, both involving the same victim, who escaped injury both times. The man didn't bother to tell police about the incidents until after the second shooting; police say that after Richardson allegedly shot at him on Interstate 580 in Dublin during the first road rage incident, the victim assumed that maybe it was a case of mistaken identity, and didn't want to be labeled a "snitch.""
"Two days later, the same man saw Richardson's Mercedes pass by him at a gas station in Dublin, ran for his car, and began following Richardson around town. Richardson allegedly got ahead of the other man's BMW, parked his Mercedes, got out, and fired at the Mercedes when it approached, causing the driver to speed off, according to police. After that incident, the man reported both shootings to police."
"In September 2023, as a 17-year-old boy, Richardson was a suspect in a San Ramon shooting with a particularly petty alleged motive. The victim in that case reported that he drove by Richardson and others, rolled down the window, and stuck his tongue out at the group in a childish taunt. Richardson allegedly responded by shooting up the car in a Safeway parking lot."
Richo Olive Crouch Richardson III, 19, was charged with attempted murder, shooting at an occupied car, and carrying a loaded firearm in public. Two shootings occurred on Aug. 13 and Aug. 15, both involving the same victim who escaped injury. The victim did not report the first shooting until after the second, believing the first might have been mistaken identity and not wanting to be labeled a "snitch." In the second incident the suspect allegedly fired at the victim after a confrontation following a gas station sighting. Richardson turned himself in on Aug. 18 and is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail. As a 17-year-old he was previously a suspect in a San Ramon shooting after an alleged taunt escalated to gunfire in a Safeway parking lot.
