Saratoga celebrates fall with scarecrows, super moon festivities
"Scarecrows are coming back! The annual competition that fills the Saratoga Village with fall spirit is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. You can display your homemade creation along Big Basin Way or at your home. Judges will select the scariest, funniest, most creative and most original. Prize is a $60 gift certificate to the Saratoga restaurant of your choice. Hakone Estate and Gardens will celebrate the magical moon on Monday, Oct. 6, starting at 5:30. Free lanterns for kids, entertainment, Haiku readings, kimono display and activities. Hakone Estate and Gardens will celebrate the Oct. 6 Super Moon at 5:30 with free lanterns for kids, entertainment and Haiku readings; admission varies by age. The Serbian Food Festival at 18870 Allendale Ave drew over 2,000 visitors with traditional food, live music and family activities and will return in September 2026. Saratoga Nights ends Oct. 2 with live music and beverage tents. A Safe Routes to School event provided helmet fittings and a bicycle fix-it station.
