Serial killer Joseph Naso calls I-Team from prison as he faces new investigations
""I'm not doing too good," Joseph Naso said in a phone call to the I-Team's Dan Noyes. "I'm in bad shape. I broke my hip. Did you know that?""
""Trying to have surgery. It's really hard," Naso said. "I can't walk. Can't stand up. Spend most of my time in bed.""
""And I says, 'You know, I do something for you. I help you with the cold case. You do something for me, and I want a reversal of all my convictions.' And she says, 'No, that's not going to happen.'""
Joseph Naso received a death sentence twelve years ago for six murders. A former death row inmate claims Naso admitted killing 26 women, prompting renewed scrutiny and law enforcement interest across the Bay Area. Naso, now 91, reports declining health including a broken hip, limited mobility, and an alleged wheelchair assault after prison transfers. Investigators found a "list of ten" in his Reno home during a parole search, and the FBI contacted him about a potential cold-case victim on that list. Naso says he offered cooperation in exchange for reversal of convictions, and that the request was refused.
