Law enforcement agencies across California mobilized for a weeklong campaign that led to the arrest of more than 600 suspects and the rescue of over 170 victims of human trafficking. The operation was led by the Los Angeles Regional Human Trafficking Task Force in coordination with roughly 80 local, state, and federal agencies. Operations targeted corridors known for prostitution and included parole and probation checks of individuals with prior similar arrests. Officials characterized human trafficking as a multibillion-dollar industry and vowed year-round enforcement.
