"GO Transit riders will want to check for changes to their regular commute Tuesday morning, as issues near Union Station continue to impact lines a day after a derailed train wreaked havoc on train schedules. A special schedule is in effect Tuesday "to support disabled train recovery efforts," according to an update on GO Transit's website. Commuters are encouraged to plan their GO trip online Tuesday."
""While we work to provide you with consistent service, we recommend allowing yourself extra time to get to where you are going," GO's update said. The agency said Monday night that GO trains will be running at the following service levels Tuesday morning: Lakeshore East: 60-minute service, outside of 15 to 30-minute peak morning and evening service. Lakeshore West: 60-minute service, outside of 15 to 30-minute peak morning and evening service. UP Express: operating on 30-minute service."
GO Transit implemented a special Tuesday schedule to support disabled train recovery efforts after a derailment near Union Station. Commuters are encouraged to plan trips online and allow extra travel time. Service frequencies are reduced on multiple lines: Lakeshore East and West operate hourly outside peak periods, Kitchener hourly outside peak, Richmond Hill hourly at peak, Milton, Stouffville, and Barrie run 30-minute peak service, and UP Express runs every 30 minutes. The modified schedule prioritizes maximum trips on busiest lines during peak periods. Crews worked through day and night to remove the derailed train, which caused widespread delays and cancellations.
