Luis Robert, after a challenging start to the season, indicated progress towards regaining his All-Star performance. Though his batting average remains low at .170, he showcased his skills with a home run and exceptional base-running, leading the American League with 12 stolen bases. Robert emphasized the impact of strong pitching and his aim to capitalize on mistakes as factors in his slow start. Additionally, his newfound discipline with 17 walks boosts his overall value to the team. With hopes for improvement, Robert remains optimistic about his offensive contributions moving forward.
It's just a work in progress. I think I'm getting closer. Once I start punishing those pitches, my offense is going to be good.
I'm excited, especially when he starts getting on base more and starts doing his thing offensively, what he can do as far as stealing bases and putting pressure on the defense.
I think the warm weather and a healthy dose of patience will help; that's the only explanation I can find right now.
While the bat's been lacking, Robert has made an impact with his legs and glove.
