The Chicago White Sox have decided to rest Luis Robert Jr. for two games to aid in his hitting recovery. Following a rough patch where he recorded only one hit in 20 at-bats with ten strikeouts, manager Will Venable aims to alleviate pressure on Robert, allowing him to focus on necessary adjustments. Despite his struggles at the plate, Robert remains a strong defensive player and has showcased his speed with a league-high in steals. Meanwhile, the team also dealt with injury issues concerning their pitching staff, signaling challenges for the last-place club.
He'll be available, but not in the starting lineup, just to give (him) an opportunity to really dial in some of these adjustments without just feeling the pressure of having to go out there and perform.
He is putting in a ton of work and working extremely hard all throughout the day to try and get this thing right.
