Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago White Sox, has made a long-term agreement with Justin Ishbia, allowing Ishbia the potential for majority ownership within the next decade. Although Reinsdorf will maintain control until at least 2029, after that, Ishbia can acquire controlling interest by 2033. Since owning the White Sox, Reinsdorf has seen the team achieve a World Series title in 2005 but has faced challenges as the team's performance has declined in recent years, particularly noted by a disastrous 2024 season with 121 losses.
Having the incredible opportunity to own the Chicago White Sox and be part of Major League Baseball for nearly 50 years has been a life-changing experience.
Under Reinsdorf's leadership, the White Sox won the 2005 World Series and six division titles, but the team has been in a freefall since winning 93 games in 2021.
