The Robert Day Sciences Center at Claremont McKenna College is a 135,000-sq-ft facility arranged to maximize multidisciplinary integration and interaction. Each level is oriented in a different direction to channel the flow of people and ideas between laboratories, classrooms, and the surrounding campus. Commissioned in 2020, the center serves a community of 1,400 students. The building represents BIG's first completed project in Los Angeles and the initial finished element of a BIG-designed masterplan for CMC's Roberts Campus that aims to unify the campus by extending the central mall and adjacent sports bowl. Key collaborators include Saiful Bouquet, KPRS, and IDS Real Estate Group.
