"Clutter can sneak up on you if you're not regularly decluttering your home and implementing organizational systems that actually work for you. One minute you'll be tossing just one shirt onto your dedicated " clothes chair," and the next there's an entire wardrobe sitting there. Additionally, clutter can be even harder to tame when it's in a spot you're not checking often. That's why it's important to identify any "problem areas" you have in your home, and then figure out the best way to fix them moving forward. Here's how."
"Day 7: Fix a clutter problem area in your home. The assignment is simple: Identify a place where clutter is an issue ( visible or hidden) and address it. Some examples of where to look include counters with items all over them, overstuffed drawers, messy cabinets, and disorganized shelves. Pick one place you want to work on today. Depending on the size of your space, you might want to declutter just three major items here or the entirety of it. Decide what needs to be tossed, relocated, or placed in an outbox."
A free two-week decluttering program delivers daily assignments to help reduce clutter and create effective organizational systems. Day 7 focuses on selecting one problem area—visible or hidden—and addressing it by deciding which items to toss, relocate, or place in an outbox. Examples of problem areas include crowded counters, overstuffed drawers, messy cabinets, and disorganized shelves. Participants can adjust the scope of work based on space size, removing a few major items or tackling the entire area. Ongoing prevention strategies include implementing a tailored system and setting daily, weekly, or bi-weekly reminders for regular decluttering sessions.
