"Deep within the native forests of Punta del Este, Uruguay, sits a home that performs a daily magic trick. By day, it vanishes into the dense canopy of trees surrounding it. By night, it transforms into a glowing beacon, earning its poetic moniker as a "lantern in the woods." This is Iside, the latest masterpiece from iHouse estudio that challenges conventional notions of what a forest home can be."

"The magic happens through an ingenious system of large sliding glass panels that essentially make the walls disappear. When fully opened, the living, dining, and kitchen areas cease to be rooms in the traditional sense. Instead, they become extensions of the surrounding deck, which itself feels like a natural platform floating among the trees. The effect is transformative, creating spaces that breathe with the rhythm of the forest."

"Privacy wasn't sacrificed for this radical transparency. The architects tucked the bedrooms behind protective walls that offer intimate refuge while maintaining carefully curated views of the surrounding woodland. These strategic solid surfaces create a sense of sanctuary without severing the visual connection to nature that defines the home's character. During daylight hours, the structure's modest profile and natural materials allow it to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, with visitors often describing the uncanny experience of the house seeming to emerge from the forest itself."

Large sliding glass panels remove the visual boundary between interior and exterior, allowing living, dining and kitchen areas to extend onto a deck that floats among the trees. Bedrooms are placed behind protective solid walls that preserve privacy while offering curated views of the woodland. Natural materials and a modest profile enable daytime camouflage; interior lighting transforms the house into a lantern after dark.
