Depict AI's New Search Tool Wants to Help Consumers Shop With Intention
"We want people to discover something they weren't looking for. We use the word discover quite intentionally,"
"What makes a big difference in this space is that we're trying to speak the same language as the people who are buying the product and genuinely solving their problems. We don't even use the word AI on the website,"
Depict AI launched GPT Search, a conversational search tool for e-commerce that helps shoppers and brands reduce returns by improving product discovery. The tool uses a chat-style format where customers describe an occasion or mood and receive curated looks that continue across searches. GPT Search adapts to each brand's tone of voice and accepts queries up to 40 words. It excludes out-of-stock or regionally unavailable items and factors in seasonality and active campaigns. Target customers are mid-sized fashion and lifestyle brands with $10 million to $150 million in revenue and catalogs of at least 100 products. Pricing begins with a three-month flat rate and then shifts to monthly plans based on brand size and query volume. Investors include Northzone, Tiger Global and EQT Ventures.
