Nosh readers voted and Bombera in Oakland's Dimond District, from chef Dominica Rice-Cisneros, won Best Restaurant Overall for the second consecutive year. Voters praised outdoor seating, a lively patio, spacious indoors, attentive service, and a neighborhood vibe. Signature dishes cited include duck mole, chocolate pot de crème, charred beets with whipped pumpkin and sesame seed butter, and a carne asada huarache supreme with filet mignon and crispy Oaxacan cheese. Rice-Cisneros opened Cosecha Cafe in Swan's Market in 2010, became a 2019 James Beard semi-finalist for best chef, California, and opened Bombera in a renovated fire station in 2021.
