Del Popolo, a popular pizza spot in Nob Hill, is closing after 12 years to concentrate on its frozen pizza business. Owner Jon Darsky expressed mixed feelings but believes it is the right decision. Esme, a new French-inspired bistro, is set to open in May at the former Ragazza location, with entrees priced between $22 and $32. Grand Lake Kitchen has opened a new location in Noe Valley, offering brunch and dinner, with full service starting April 1. A new Michoacan-style carnitas restaurant, Carnitas El Rincon, is also coming soon.
