Met Office warns Hurricane Humberto and Imelda remnants will bring rain and wind - London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com
"Ten inches of rain not out of the question over the highest ground in western Scotland in the next few days... pretty incredible rainfall totals."
"'Pulses of heavier rain will extend more widely at times,' he added, later this week things will 'become more complex.'"
"'If this materialises, we could see some very strong winds as well as further heavy rainfall Friday into Saturday, but at this time the development and track of this system remains uncertain. We're monitoring this closely.'"
"There is a "possibility of further warnings being issued later this week as confidence increases.""
The Met Office has issued a 37-hour yellow weather warning for rain from 5pm Wednesday to 6am Friday for western Scotland, covering parts of Argyll, Ayrshire, Dunbartonshire and Renfrewshire. Remnants of Hurricanes Humberto and Imelda are expected to bring almost a foot of rain to some areas, with forecasts of up to ten inches on the highest ground. Persistent rain will form from Wednesday, with the heaviest downpours over the hills and pulses of heavier rain spreading more widely at times. Conditions could become more complex later in the week, with a possibility of very strong winds and further heavy rainfall into Friday and Saturday, and additional warnings may be issued as confidence increases.
