Freitag's latest bag embodies a monomaterial design, using only one type of material for all components, which enhances recyclability. Unlike traditional bags that combine multiple materials, the new approach allows the entire product to be processed easily for recycling, akin to a plastic bottle. Polyamide 6 was selected for its availability and market for recycling. The company creatively avoided traditional water-repellent coatings that would hinder recyclability. Additionally, consumers are encouraged to return bags for repairs using compatible materials, reinforcing sustainability.
