"Pinterest says thrifting and parenting will remain top of mind in 2026. The search terms "1970s childhood toys," "upcycled baby clothes," and "vintage kids fashion" had done well on Pinterest between September 2024 and August 2025, the report said. "In 2026, childhood gets a throwback twist with vintage-inspired outfits, classic toys from the '60s and upcycled baby looks," it wrote. "Crocheted play mats will bring cosy vibes to any nursery, while baby boomers and Gen X will thrift mini fits.""
Pinterest used billions of searches and visual engagements plus machine learning to identify 21 global trends expected in 2026. Trends include a return to glamorous, glittery fashion aesthetics and layered, bespoke fragrance blending known as scent stacking. Thrifting and upcycled vintage looks will extend to children's clothing and toys, with nostalgic items from the 1960s and 1970s gaining popularity. Search spikes between September 2024 and August 2025 highlighted interest in vintage kids' fashion, upcycled baby clothes, and classic toys. Niche food fascinations, such as heightened interest in cabbage, also emerged among predicted cultural trends.
