Nestle's CEO drinks 8 coffees a day, but says Gen Z staffers keep him sharp: 'When you stop learning, then it is the moment to move on to another job' | Fortune
""Just Black. Sometimes with a KitKat,""
""a snack for me,""
""be learning constantly,""
""When you stop learning, then it is the moment to move on to another job.""
Philipp Navratil, CEO of Nestlé, a $259 billion Swiss food giant, drinks seven to eight cups of coffee daily, typically black and sometimes with a KitKat. He describes an espresso as "a snack for me" and has no cutoff hour for caffeine. Navratil became CEO in September after a 23-year career at Nestlé, starting as an auditor after earning an MBA in 2001. He says Gen Z employees push him to "be learning constantly," and that stopping learning indicates it is time to move on. Other executives report similar influence from younger staff reshaping work and ambition.
