Norms Restaurants will give its menu a huge expansion on Oct. 1

"Norms Restaurants is expanding its core menu, adding creations such as Inside Out Omelets and an entire section of Latin foods A core menu consists of permanent items that customers expect to find when they visit a restaurant, in Norm's case items such as steak and eggs. Unlike limited-time and seasonal menus, which change constantly, core lineups usually undergo slight changes. But the Bellflower-based chain is doing it all at once on Wednesday, Oct. 1, according to David Cox, corporate executive chef."

"In a phone interview, he said the menu will grow to about 160 items, pushing it back into the range it was before COVID-19 hit in 2020. The pandemic forced restaurants to change the way they did business, coping with supply and staffing shortages. About 32 items will be new, according to representatives. Cox said nothing is coming off the current core menu, and some fan favorites are returning."

""Liver and onions was one of our most missed items that we took off. Some very vocal guests wanted it back. We brought back some old favorites in the sandwich section. There was a Tucson Turkey Melt that we actually put a twist to. We made it a spicy turkey melt by adding a habanero jalapeño cheddar cheese that we were using already that just gave it a different lift.""

Norms Restaurants will expand its core menu by roughly 60 items, increasing the menu to about 160 offerings. The expansion includes returning favorites, approximately 32 wholly new items, and items previously available but not listed on the menu. No current core items will be removed. The growth restores items reduced during the COVID-19 era and addresses changes caused by supply and staffing challenges. Additions encompass tweaks, formerly secret-menu dishes, limited-time offers made permanent, and brand-new creations. A new Latin Flavors section features Inside Out omelets and enchilada platters, and some sandwiches were reworked with spicier ingredients.
