The White Elephant Sale is Northern California's oldest and largest rummage sale, with almost 20 departments in a warehouse nearly twice the size of a football field. Volunteers collect, sort, and repair donated goods year-round, creating a curated selection of one-of-a-kind treasures priced from low-cost to bargain. The sale saves thousands of items from the landfill and supplies families with items ranging from school supplies and kids’ bikes to prom dresses, jewelry, and estate antiques. Produced by the Oakland Museum Women's Board, proceeds have funded the Oakland Museum of California’s programs, exhibitions, and marketing with more than $33 million in contributions. The 67th annual sale runs January 25–March 1, 2026, with a paid preview, priced open days, and a free clearance weekend.
