'I was paralysed on New Year's Eve- now 450 Orpington runners are fundraising for me'
Briefly

The High Elms 10K, organized by Orpington Road Runners, will be held on June 8 to support Harry Magee, a young man left paralyzed after a fall. This event signifies the club's commitment to Harry, boosting fundraising efforts for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle crucial for his independence. With 450 participants expected, the race reflects community spirit and support. Event organizer Kim Chance emphasizes Harry's inspirational attitude and the welcoming atmosphere created by marshals and music, ensuring a memorable day for all involved. Currently, over £12,000 has been raised through various fundraising efforts, with this event aiming to add significantly to that total.
Harry is the most amazing, amazing human being. Through all this adversity, he doesn't complain. He's just positive. I have to say I've never met anyone like him.
Profits made from race entries and donations will go towards a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to help give Harry greater independence.
We've even got music at different points along the route, creating a really fun atmosphere for the participants.
