"Nothing OS 4.0 was announced earlier this month as the company's skin based on Android 16, which Google released back in June. Today, the first Open Beta for Nothing OS 4.0 is finally available in case you want to be a tester. It is currently installable on the Nothing Phone (3), Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus, the Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro are missing for now, but will get their slice of Nothing OS 4.0 in October."
"If you want to participate in the Open Beta and have one of these devices, then you need to be on the latest stable release first. If you are, then you need to install an APK which is linked from Nothing's official Community post on the matter here. This will make a new item appear in Settings > System, called Nothing Beta Hub. That's where you then need to go to sign up. Once you're registered, tap on Go to Update. As this is a beta release, inevitably bugs will be present so as usual we'd caution you against doing this on your main device. Nothing encourages you to share feedback to help it continue to refine the experience. You can do this through Settings > System > Feedback."
The first Open Beta of Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, is now available for the Nothing Phone (3), Phone (2), Phone (2a), and Phone (2a) Plus. The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro will receive the update in October. Devices must be running the latest stable release before enrolling in the Open Beta. Enrollment requires installing an APK from Nothing's Community post, which adds Nothing Beta Hub under Settings > System for sign-up and updates. Beta builds may contain bugs, so avoid installing on a primary device and submit feedback via Settings > System > Feedback.
