"Samsung's upcoming One UI 8.5 is expected to make its debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series in January, and thanks to a newly leaked early build we now know of another feature it will incorporate: AI-powered notification summaries. In the most recently leaked One UI 8.5 build, this feature has been added but it still doesn't work. Anyway, it's self-explanatory - AI will help you summarize stuff in your notifications. When you first pull down the notification shade, you'll see the pop-up in the screenshot on the left below, explaining the feature. You can then just ignore it or turn it on in Settings."
"That's where you will be able to choose which apps to exclude from notification summaries. For now, this doesn't work, as every installed app is listed by default and there's no way to remove any of them, but clearly this is still a work in progress and all of that should be sorted before One UI 8.5 officially comes out. One UI 8.5 is also adding the ability to double tap the back of your phone to perform an action or launch an app, something that was possible already on Samsung devices but only through the Good Lock app - in One UI 8.5 it will be built right into the skin itself."
One UI 8.5 will debut with the Galaxy S26 series in January and introduces AI-powered notification summaries. An early leaked build shows the feature present but currently nonfunctional in that build. The feature will summarize notification content and prompt a pop-up when pulling down the notification shade, with an option to enable it in Settings. Settings will offer the ability to exclude apps from summaries, but the leaked build lists every installed app with no removal option. One UI 8.5 also integrates a native double-tap back gesture to perform actions or launch apps, replacing the Good Lock-only method.
