Saracens fall to Champions Cup defeat by Sharks
"Saracens' ill-discipline proved costly as they fell to a 28-23 Investec Champions Cup defeat by the Sharks in torrential rain in Durban. The Prem side were set to take a hard-earned lead into the half-time break but a late tackle by Saracens captain Andy Onyeama-Christie gave the ball back to the Sharks. The South African side punished Saracens by powering up the field and freeing up Edwill van der Merwe to go over in the corner for a 21-15 lead."

Saracens lost 28-23 to the Sharks in torrential Durban rain, with Sharks tries from Siya Kolisi, Aphelele Fassi, Edwill van der Merwe and Grant Williams and four conversions by Whitehead. Saracens scored through Theo Dan, Sam Spink and Tom Willis with Burke kicking two penalties and conversions. A late tackle by Saracens captain Andy Onyeama-Christie before half-time returned possession and allowed van der Merwe to score for a 21-15 lead. Dan received a yellow card for a high tackle, after which Grant Williams extended the lead to 28-18. Saracens claimed a losing bonus point but could not overturn the deficit. JP Pietersen recorded his first match in charge.
