"We saw that she pushed her, and my mom smacked her head very hard on the back of the bed rail,"
"Your mom bumped the back of her head on the railing of the bed couldn't catch her before she hit it."
"I actually was screaming, "She's got, you know, Alzheimer's, and it's like she's like a 2-year-old. She can't communicate. It's like pushing a baby.""
An alleged assault occurred on Sept. 21 inside an 85-year-old woman's Wayne, New Jersey home. Video shows home health aide Helen Pitman shoving the woman into her bed, causing the woman to hit her head against a bed rail and scream. The woman suffered bruises to her arms and a concussion. Pitman had been caring for the woman for about a week and reportedly knew a visibly recording camera was present. Pitman initially sent the family a text claiming the woman bumped her head. Family members report increased fearfulness and a changed demeanor afterward.
