University of California spent nearly $2 million on lobbying during the first two quarters of 2025, close to its full 2024 lobbying total. Stanford spent $330,000 in the first half of 2025. California State University reduced its lobbying spending compared with 2024. Nationally, institutions spent about $9 million in Q1 and more than $9.7 million in Q2 of 2025.
