Qiqi (Kiara) Shan ’26, Ruihao (Ray) Lin, J.D. ’24, and Isaac McCurdy ’21 are Schwarzman Scholars for 2026–27 and will pursue a master’s in global affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The program, established in 2015, aims to empower leaders and bridge cultures. Students live in Beijing for a year of study and cultural immersion, attending lectures, traveling in the region, and developing a deeper understanding of China. Shan, a psychology and economics major, plans to explore sustainable models to improve mental health accessibility and to examine how demographic change, public perceptions, and cross-sector collaboration shape mental health systems. Shan has research experience in the College of Human Ecology and leadership experience with the Cornell Chinese Students and Scholars Association. McCurdy is a U.S. Army infantry officer who majored in China and Asia Pacific Studies and participated in ROTC.
