Lisa Kudrow said a funny script exists and that things are moving toward it, while also noting she has not been authorized to announce anything yet. Mira Sorvino previously indicated the sequel was in development and confirmed final talks to reprise their roles. The original story followed two unambitious best friends as they prepared for their 10-year reunion by pretending to be more successful to impress classmates and crushes. Sorvino said nearly every important character from the original is expected to return, but the project and related business arrangements still require green-light decisions and agreements.
