Ben Casparius experienced a right leg cramp during a game against the Minnesota Twins and exited after allowing one hit and walking three batters. The right-hander noted this cramp felt more severe than previous ones he had experienced. An MRI indicated no serious injury, leading Casparius to feel fortunate as he shared his experience with discomfort extending from his foot to his calf. He expressed optimism about needing only a few days of recovery, while Dodgers management has no immediate plans to place him on the injured list.
"I would say the last couple pitches of warm ups, I kind of felt my foot give a little bit, like a charlie horse feeling, clenched up," Casparius said after the game.
"Things came back negative," he said. "So for me, I think it was kind of the foot discomfort that bled into the calf a little bit and up toward the top of my knee.
"I think I'm just going to need a couple days to get back on track," Casparius said.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team does not plan to put Casparius on the injured list as of right now.
