""The timetable is more just kind of as I progress. So, it's kind of hard to to say exactly when I'll be ready to, you know, hop back in a Major League game again,""
""As of right now, this past week, I just took dry swings for the first time and then started my throwing progression again. I got the boot off like two and a half weeks ago. The last two and a half weeks I've been working into walking and pushing off it more. I got into like light skipping this week. Hopefully jogging next this next week. So you know, that's kind of where I'm at right now and each step along the way, it's kind of just being patient and making sure I'm hitting all the checkpoints with with no discomfort. And everything I've done so far has felt really good.""
Tommy Edman underwent offseason surgery on his right ankle and is progressing through a stepwise rehab that will determine his return timetable. He recently took dry swings and restarted his throwing progression after having his boot removed about two and a half weeks earlier. His current rehab has included walking, pushing off, light skipping, and hopes to begin jogging soon, with each step requiring absence of discomfort. The Dodgers added depth by signing Andy Ibañez and will evaluate Alex Freeland and Hyeseong Kim during spring training. With Kyle Tucker added, Edman is likely to be the primary second baseman in 2026.
