Mei Lin, the Top Chef winner, has announced her departure from her Los Angeles restaurants, Daybird and 88 Club. Daybird, known for its unique fried chicken offerings, became popular shortly after its 2021 opening. 88 Club, which features Hong Kong-style cuisine, opened in April 2025. Lin expressed the need to step away from the restaurant business for personal clarity and intends to explore modern Chinese cuisine in future projects, inspired by her travels and other chefs in the field.
