"At around 12.30am on Friday, December 12 police responded to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Forest Road and Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow. Officers, the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade attended the scene following a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The car then collided with a building. Paramedics treated the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, at the scene, but he was sadly pronounced dead at 1.04am. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers."
Emergency services responded around 12:30am on December 12 to a collision at the junction of Forest Road and Blackhorse Road in Walthamstow. A car struck a 26-year-old pedestrian and then collided with a building. Paramedics treated the man at the scene but he was pronounced dead at 1:04am. The car's 52-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody. A cordon was established and the road was closed. An urgent update will be sought from Transport for London on site safety and condolences were expressed to the victim, family and witnesses. Next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
