"When Spasia Dinkovski closed down her British-Balkan bakehouse and cafe Mystic Burek, we were gutted - not least because we had to remove it from our top 50 restaurants in London list. Thank goodness then for the brand's return. Taking over a kebab shop space on Dartmouth Road in Sydenham, south London, the new venture will open under the name Doma (which means 'at home') and will do things a little bit differently."
"They'll be opening up for ticketed dinners and special events (almost) every weekend, with only 25 tickets available for each night. The ever-shifting menu will include homemade kajmak, as well as preserves, cheeses, sausages, and grilled meats, all of them celebrating traditional cuisine from Dinkovski's Macedonian heritage. Doma will open up for their first service at the end of October at 172 Dartmouth Road."
Spasia Dinkovski has relaunched her British-Balkan concept as Doma, taking over a former kebab shop at 172 Dartmouth Road in Sydenham, south London. Doma will operate primarily as a small-ticketed dinner venue with almost-weekly special events and just 25 tickets per night. Menus will shift regularly and spotlight homemade kajmak, preserves, cheeses, sausages and grilled meats rooted in Macedonian tradition. The venue's first service opens at the end of October. Mystic Burek's signature filo pies and baklava will return monthly, served on the last Saturday of every month.
