"Violent crime with injury is down in every single London borough and that is testament to the incredible work of our brave police officers."
"That's why fewer people are being hurt, fewer lives are being lost, and London is becoming a safer city,"
"crime in London is through the roof"
"one death and one crime will always be too many"
Violent crime resulting in injury in London fell by nearly 12%, equating to almost 9,000 fewer offences when comparing the 12 months ending August 2025 with the previous year. Every London borough recorded a reduction in violent crime with injury. Police are arresting 1,000 additional suspects each month, and prevention work led by the violence reduction unit delivered more than 450,000 positive opportunities and activities to divert young people away from violence and exploitation. The homicide rate stands at a 10-year low versus the period to May 2016. Conservative politicians described the figures as 'cherry-picked', while police leaders say targeted disruption and prevention are reducing harm.
