Pro-LTN campaigners hail 'brilliant' news that Bethnal Green row will be heard in Court of Appeal
Briefly

The Tower Hamlets community has gained permission to appeal the mayor's decision to remove low traffic neighborhoods (LTNs). Campaigners from SOSS believe the mayor's ruling was legally flawed and poorly executed. With ongoing legal disputes, the LTNs on Columbia Road, Arnold Circus, and Old Bethnal Green Road remain in place. SOSS has raised over £91,000 through crowdfunding to support the appeal and aims for additional funds. Solicitors express optimism about the case, deeming it a significant public interest matter, and anticipate a hearing before three judges soon.
Not many cases are given permission to go to the Court of Appeal. It's very encouraging that the judge thinks we have a realistic prospect of success, and also that this case raises important issues of public interest.
We have always thought the Tower Hamlets mayor's decision to remove our LTNs was legally flawed as well as poorly executed, so we're glad that the appeal judge agrees that it should be looked at again.
