Dublin Airport eyes busiest ever summer, with 10m passengers
Briefly

Dublin Airport is preparing for a busy holiday season by implementing extensive improvements aimed at enhancing passenger experience. With an anticipated 36.3 million passengers this year, the airport has added 420 extra boarding gate seats and 350 more pre-security seats. New food options, including popular chains, and family-friendly entertainment areas have been introduced. A new app and advanced security scanners are part of the upgrade as well, eliminating the need for passengers to remove laptops and liquids from bags. Airport management remains hopeful about easing liquid restrictions in hand luggage soon, pending EU guidance.
The improvements include 420 additional seats at boarding gates across its two terminals, and 350 more before security areas.
Mr McLean said the airport is hopeful that the current rules restricting liquid amounts in hand luggage to 100ml per container will change soon.
