"Thank you Miami! You've changed my life. Can't wait for what's next with the Rockies and Colorado 🏔️."
"I was on the flight home to Israel when Buschmann was officially on board, so we quickly created a little group chat. We're going to enjoy these few days, answer phone calls, call players, say our 'thank yous' and get to work."
Alon Leichman will serve as the Colorado Rockies' head pitching coach, marking the first time an Israeli has held an MLB head pitching coach position. Leichman grew up on Kibbutz Gezer and first learned baseball on a field his father built. He most recently served as assistant pitching coach for the Miami Marlins and previously held the same role with the Cincinnati Reds. Leichman has played and coached for Team Israel, including a bullpen coach role at the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and is expected to be Team Israel's head pitching coach for the 2026 WBC. Gabe Ribas joins as assistant pitching coach and Matt Buschmann as bullpen coach.
