Everyday infield options currently include Andrés Gimenez, Ernie Clement and Addison Barger, but the team is reportedly seeking a high-upside bat. Munetaka Murakami, a 25-year-old left-handed slugger posted by the Yakult Swallows, has drawn interest from multiple teams and has until Dec. 22 to sign with an MLB club. Murakami offers significant power potential despite some swing-and-miss concerns.
