David Dahl announced his retirement at age 31 after a 13-season professional career. He appeared in parts of seven Major League seasons (2016–24), playing 350 games and hitting .268/.313/.460 with 46 home runs over 1,311 plate appearances. Colorado selected him 10th overall in the 2012 draft, and he spent the majority of his pro career in the Rockies organization. A top-100 minor-league prospect, Dahl suffered a lacerated spleen in 2015 and opted for removal to return that season. He debuted strongly in 2016, endured injuries in 2017, and produced a .291/.342/.528 line with 31 homers across 2018–19, including an All-Star nod and a postseason appearance.
