The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-4 to clinch the Wild Card series and advance to the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies. Yoshinobu Yamamoto struck out nine batters across 6.2 innings, delivering another strong postseason start. Mookie Betts collected four hits and three RBIs in the win. Clayton Kershaw was left off the Wild Card roster but manager Dave Roberts left open his availability for the NLDS. Tommy Edman missed the clinching game after aggravating an ankle and was moved out of center field to reduce wear. Shohei Ohtani is slated to start Game 1 of the NLDS.
