"I'm really nervous,"
"He told me they are a really good organization and they treat every player like they are all really good players. He told me great things about the Dodgers,"
Edwin Díaz signed a three-year, $69 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers to become the team's closer. The Dodgers held an introductory press conference attended by Andrew Friedman and Brandon Gomes, who presented Díaz with a No. 3 jersey. Díaz expressed nervousness and thanked the New York Mets, Friedman, Gomes and Dodgers ownership. Díaz said conversations with his brother Alexis Díaz and Kiké Hernández produced positive feedback about the Dodgers organization. Díaz spent the past seven seasons with the Mets, posted a 6-3 record with a 1.63 ERA, 28 saves and 62 appearances this year, and earned multiple awards. He has 253 career saves and a 2.82 ERA.
