Roki Sasaki entered the ninth inning of Game 2 of the NL Wild Card Series with an 8-4 Dodgers lead and retired the side on 11 pitches, recording two strikeouts and touching a season-best 101.4 mph on his fastball. The 21-year-old's outing followed bullpen struggles in the eighth and secured the Dodgers' advance to the Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Sasaki missed most of his rookie season with a right shoulder impingement, used the recovery to build strength and refine mechanics, and returned in late September with improved velocity and command. The Dodgers placed him in the postseason bullpen for high-leverage situations despite a long-term starter outlook.
