Marlins Claim Garrett Acton, Designate Victor Mesa Jr. For Assignment
"The Marlins have claimed right-hander Garrett Acton off waivers from the Marlins, according to announcements from both clubs. Mami designated outfielder Victor Mesa Jr. for assignment as a corresponding move. Colorado designated Acton for assignment back on January 22nd when they signed Willi Castro. DFA limbo is supposed to be capped at one week. It's unclear why Acton remained in limbo for almost two weeks. More to come."

The Miami Marlins claimed right-hander Garrett Acton off waivers and designated outfielder Victor Mesa Jr. for assignment as the corresponding roster move. Colorado designated Acton for assignment on January 22 when they signed Willi Castro. DFA limbo is supposed to be capped at one week, but Acton remained in waiver limbo for almost two weeks. The extended waiver period created uncertainty about his roster status and timing alignment between the clubs. Mesa's DFA opens a 40-man roster spot and places him into the DFA/waiver process. The underlying cause of the delay was not reported.
