Colorado designated Acton for assignment on January 22 when they signed Willi Castro. DFA limbo is supposed to be capped at one week, but Acton remained in waiver limbo for almost two weeks. The extended waiver period created uncertainty about his roster status and timing alignment between the clubs. Mesa's DFA opens a 40-man roster spot and places him into the DFA/waiver process.
